Exchanging

What is Haltee?

Haltee is a cryptocurrency exchange. You choose the coin you are sending and the one you want to receive, send your deposit to the address we show you, and the exchanged funds arrive at the wallet you gave us. We exchange crypto for crypto only. We do not hold your funds and we do not take deposits in cash or from a bank.

How long does an exchange take?

Most exchanges finish within ten minutes of your deposit being confirmed. The wait before that is the network's, not ours. Depending on the coin and network, a deposit needs between 2 and 50 confirmations before we can process it. A busy network takes longer.

Is the rate fixed?

No, the rate is floating. The figure shown when you create an order is an estimate from the market at that moment. The rate that applies is calculated when your deposit is processed, so the amount you receive can differ from the estimate. On a quiet market the difference is small; on a volatile one it can be larger.

What is the minimum amount?

It depends on the pair. Each coin and network has its own minimum, driven mostly by network fees, and the calculator will tell you if the amount you entered is below it. There is no single figure that applies to everything.

Which coins and networks can I exchange?

Every pair we can quote appears in the calculator on the home page. The list changes as the market does. Always check the network as well as the coin. The same asset exists on several networks, and sending on the wrong one is the most common way funds are lost.

Your order

Can I change or cancel an order?

Before you send anything, yes — simply start a new order with the details you want. Once your deposit is on its way it cannot be recalled: a blockchain transaction is final. If you sent the wrong amount, or sent on the wrong network, contact support with your order reference and we will tell you what can be done.

I sent my deposit and nothing has happened.

Open your order page and check what it says. If it is still waiting, the deposit has not reached the required number of confirmations yet. If the page shows the exchange as complete but the funds are not in your wallet, check the payout transaction shown on that page in a block explorer — from our side the funds have left. If neither is true, contact support with your order reference.

Account and support

Do I need an account?

No. An exchange only needs a receiving wallet address and an email address for order updates. An account is useful if you exchange often: it keeps your order history in one place and gives you a referral code.

I never received the confirmation email.

Check your spam folder first: automated mail is often filed there. If it is not there, you can ask for it again from your account settings, or contact support.

Do you work around the clock?

Exchanges are processed automatically and run at any hour, including weekends. Support is answered by people, so a reply outside working hours may take longer.
