Safeguarding Your Privacy at Haltee

Last updated: 2026-07-29

This notice explains what personal information Haltee ("we", "us") collects when you use haltee.com, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have over it.

1. What we collect

We do not collect a payment card number: Haltee exchanges cryptocurrency directly, so no card ever passes through us.

2. Why we use it

To carry out and confirm your exchange; to secure your account and detect fraud; to meet our legal and anti-money-laundering obligations, described in our AML policy; and to respond when you contact us. Where we rely on your consent, for an optional feature such as two-factor authentication, you may withdraw it at any time.

3. Who we share it with

Our exchange provider, to execute your order; our email provider, to send you order updates and account messages; and a regulator, auditor or law-enforcement body, where the law requires it or our AML policy calls for it. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

4. How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active, or as long as the law requires for financial and anti-money-laundering records, which is typically longer than the account itself. We delete or anonymise information once neither reason applies.

5. Keeping it safe

We encrypt sensitive fields at rest, hash every password, and restrict who inside Haltee can access your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee against every attack, but we design and review our systems to make one as difficult as we reasonably can.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies: to keep you signed in, to protect your session against forgery, to remember your language and, where relevant, to attribute your visit to a referral link. None of them are used for advertising, and we do not track you across other websites.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your personal information, and to object to how we use it. Ask through our Contact page and we will act on it in line with applicable law. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner's Office.

8. Age

The Platform is for users aged 18 and over, or a minor using it with a parent or guardian's verified consent where local law allows it. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone who does not meet that bar; if we learn that we have, we delete it.

9. International transfers

Haltee is hosted in the United Kingdom. If you use the Platform from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the UK, and by continuing to use the Platform you agree to that transfer.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time; the date above shows when we last did. A material change will be posted here before it takes effect.
